The role of family support in cancer patient recovery
Strong family support helps reduce anxiety amongst cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
A study published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention indicates that higher levels of family support are significantly associated with lower anxiety levels amongst cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. They also concluded that effective coping strategies and lower anxiety levels among these patients, and recommended health services increase family support for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in combination with effective coping strategies to decrease anxiety levels.
We know community matters. They lift you up when you’re feeling down, emotionally, and sometimes even physically, they help you face being anxious and overwhelmed head on, and help you get through the most challenging times.
Inspired by a personal pain, and born from an understanding that even the young, independent and able can quickly become more reliant on family, friends and loved ones for support during chemotherapy.
We also know that asking for help is hard.

We set out to build a platform that would enable individuals going through a health journey to do just that - clearly communicate their needs, build a community around them, and coordinate help in a more meaningful way.
